When playing in ludicrous galaxy size, I find myself constantly zooming in and out on the minimap. However, I play on 4k resolution on a 27" monitor, so I have a lot of screen space to play with.

This begs the simple question: Is it possible to double the size of the minimap? Or at least make it 1,5 times larger?

Without changing any of the xml code, there should be settings within the game that will allow you to change somethings around. You can increase the scroll speed of the camera if that would make things any easier, and you should also be able to change the UI from being set to "normal" to "large" (assuming that your monitor is able to accommodate the change, which it seems like it can).

Thanks. I had forgotten about the UI size setting. I't definitely a usable workaround, even though it does make the UI quite large even on medium setting.

Does changing .xml disable achievements? If anyone could pinpoint if it is possible to change only the minimap size in one of the xml files, that'd be great

You'll probably have to make a mod for it so that any new Gal Civ 3 updates won't overwrite your changes. That being said, I found the xml sheet at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\data\Core\UISizeDefs.xml for the scale of the UI itself (though not specifically for the mini-map).
